ELEM’s digital outreach teams
The presence of a trusted, accessible, and caring adult online enables young people to share their experiences, seek advice, and receive support — even when they find it difficult to ask for help in person.
The program helps identify emotional distress and risk at an early stage, reduces loneliness and isolation, and builds trust over time.
When needed, young people receive ongoing support and are connected to ELEM’s in-person programs as well as to appropriate professional and community services.

Types of programs
Anonymous chat and WhatsApp response allow for personal conversation around issues of adolescence, difficulties, and challenges, all within a safe, enabling, and non-judgmental space. The chat is active in Hebrew on Sundays-Wednesdays from 20:00-24:00. In addition, the chat response in the Arab society operates on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 20:00-24:00. In the chat, teenagers can receive short-term intervention responses and also continuous support for up to a year. The outreach system is active on TikTok in Hebrew and in Arabic and on Instagram in Hebrew and in Arabic. In the outreach system, a professional team and volunteers locate messages, posts, and videos by using search terms, hashtags, popular trends, and sounds that indicate difficulty, pain, and distress among teenagers, in order to create an initial intervention that allows for referrals and continued joint reflection.
The online treatment center operates in cooperation with Hotline 105 and the National Insurance Institute funds, providing short and focused treatment to youth and young adults aged 12-26 who have experienced online harm. This treatment consists of six sessions with a therapist via Zoom (ZOOM). The center focuses on initial coping tools to return to daily functioning and assists in dealing with crises accompanied by a decline in functioning in various areas of life.
