Harm Reduction at Festivals

The program’s staff and volunteers specialize in harm reduction, providing professional, compassionate, and non-judgmental support to young people using psychoactive substances or experiencing emergencies. Through a calm, reassuring presence on the ground, they help participants navigate challenging situations safely and, when needed, connect them with long-term care and support.
On October 7, while volunteering with the program at the Nova music festival, ELEM volunteers Lior Attias-Hada, Yonatan Richter, and Sigal Levy were murdered. May their memories be a blessing.
The program continues its work in their memory, guided by the values they embodied: humanity, responsibility, mutual care, and a commitment to reaching young people wherever they are.

Types of programs

The “Good People” program operates in youth entertainment spaces, including nature parties and large events. The teams and volunteers provide support, a listening ear, and assistance to young people in situations of difficulty and distress. Following the events of October 7th, the program was expanded to include accompanying young people affected by the Nova party, providing emotional support and guidance for treatment.
